Dogs eating cat food

If I wasn't so lazy, I'd look up the answer somewhere...but I know you smart folks will be able to give me the answer off the top of your head.   :-*
Any dangers to the dogs eating cat food?  Bought a case of cat food that the cats are plugging their noses in order to get it down.

I think its more of a problem if cats eat dog food because there are some things lacking in dog food that cats need.  However cat food is a lot higher in protein than dog food, so I don't know if that would make any difference.

I would imagine if you spread it out, one can a week until it's gone, it would not be detrimental to the dogs. :)

I was fairly sure it was safe to feed the dogs the cats' wet food...just wanted to double check.  I like the idea of feeding them just a can a week.  Thanks.

Years ago I asked my vet about that and he said dogs can eat cat food but cats can't eat dog food. Like Middle Child said, he said the only thing to watch for is weight gain because of the high protein content in cat food.
